If you feed your cells the necessary nutrients, your cravings will disappear and your body will burn fat. We usually drink each juice over the course of an hour, and many people are surprised by the amount of energy they have while juice cleansing. We don’t bother with a specific calorie count, but each cleanse day is around 1,200 calories. So while it’s less than most of us are used to, it’s plenty of fuel to get you through the day. We do suggest a lighter workout than usual while on the cleanse. Yoga, walking, or a light run/swim are all good. Drink a lot of water! This will help your body flush out all the nasty stuff you have inside and further the detoxification.
How do I prepare for a juice cleanse?
The more prepared your body is for the cleanse, the easier it will be. We highly recommend modifying your diet the week before you plan to do the cleanse. Removing dairy, meat, packaged and processed food, gluten, sugar, alcohol, and caffeine from your diet will both aid in the overall cleansing process and help introduce your body to living without these items. The days following the cleanse are equally as important as the days prior. Follow the same guidelines as the days before your cleanse. We recommend fresh fruit for breakfast, simple whole grains, and salads with snacks of raw veggies throughout the day. As you slowly start integrating food groups back into your diet, notice how different items make you feel. Is gluten or dairy particularly difficult? Or you may find yourself no longer craving fatty foods or sugary items. This cleanse is not set up to limit yourself, but allow for more space to listen to your body.
